With a strong commitment to research and teaching, as well as training the next generation of historians, the faculty have published extensively and are active participants in national historical organizations. Beyond teaching and research, our students and faculty are involved in numerous scholarly and outreach activities, including the Summersell Center for the Study of the South, the College of Arts and Sciences Cuba Initiative, and the Southern Historian, an annual graduate journal published in-house.
