Holly Pinheiro, Jr., “Men of Color! To Arms!: Race, Gender, and Citizenship During the Civil War Era”

The History Department and the Summersell Chair of Southern History are pleased to present a talk by Holly Pinheiro, Jr.University of Iowa doctoral candidate and current Alabama A&M University faculty member, entitled “Men of Color! To Arms!: Race, Gender, and Citizenship During the Civil War Era.”

The talk, which will be held on Tuesday, October 17,  from 12-1:30pm, in 251 ten Hoor, will examine the lives of fifty northern black soldiers and their families before, during, and after the Civil War.
