This year, the Undergraduate Historical Society launched the inaugural Capstone Conference of Undergraduate History.
A student-run research event, the Capstone Conference creates a space for students to share their cutting-edge work with the broader history community. The idea sprung from the undergrads’ desire to showcase the diversity, breadth, and depth of the research produced in the department: in our HY 430 research seminars; in their honors theses projects, and in the independent work that they carry out with our professors.
The organizers also hope to build community in a time of division, and while the first conference will be held by Zoom, they look forward to the time when they can meet again in person.
The Undergraduate Historical Society is advised by Dr. Lucy Kaufman.
