Department alumnus Matthew L. Downs is carrying on the University’s tradition of teaching excellence and leadership at the University of Mobile, where he is Assistant Professor of History and Chair of the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Department of History Doctoral Candidate Adam H. Petty’s article, entitled “Latter-day Saint Beginnings in Alabama,” was published in the July 2016 edition of the Alabama Review.
