  • A dissertation entitled “Fighting Johnnies, Fevers, and Mosquitoes: A Medical History of the Vicksburg Campaign” which examines how Union and Confederate armies campaigning in the Lower Mississippi River Valley altered the medical landscape of Vicksburg and the surrounding area during the spring and summer of 1863.
